Vet Technician/Assistant
Swannack Veterinary Services is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Veterinary Technician/Assistant to enhance our team. As a key member of our clinic, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Administer medications and treatments under veterinary supervision
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis
- Operate and interpret digital radiographs
- Prepare surgical suites and ensure all necessary equipment is ready
- Monitor and care for animals during their stay at the clinic
- Provide guidance and support to pet owners, answering questions and offering advice on pet care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle and restrain animals with care and compassion
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Experience and certification is not required for an assistant position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital
- In-depth knowledge of veterinary procedures, medications, and medical terminology
