Vet Technician/Assistant

Swannack Veterinary Services is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Veterinary Technician/Assistant to enhance our team. As a key member of our clinic, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments under veterinary supervision
  • Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis
  • Operate and interpret digital radiographs
  • Prepare surgical suites and ensure all necessary equipment is ready
  • Monitor and care for animals during their stay at the clinic
  • Provide guidance and support to pet owners, answering questions and offering advice on pet care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals with care and compassion
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Experience and certification is not required for an assistant position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification
  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital
  • In-depth knowledge of veterinary procedures, medications, and medical terminology
